The Opus Earth Collection
For our debut Collection, we’re slowing down to gaze downwards.
We’re drawn to the colours, shapes, textures and scents found close to the surface of the earth.
Observing and absorbing these will leave you feeling content and calm.
Dreaming of carrying this feeling of serenity with us elsewhere,
we designed a collection of botanically-inspired items to imitate the collage on the surface of the earth.
Each piece in this collection is an invitation to move slowly, a reminder to be present.
Opus Botanical Florist & Design Studio
A Functional Sculpture
Drawing inspiration from the art of balancing stones,
this playful handmade clay sculpture is designed to be stacked into a series of functional items.
Inspired by the scent of the forest floor. Created to slow down time.
Sweet, Woody & Grassy
Fresh, Light & Crisp
Earthy, Herbaceous & Rooty
Acting as a reminder of earth’s fragility,
this handmade clay vase is marked with craters made to hold individual stems.
Created using dried fragrant botanicals,
Impepho is traditionally burned in sacred ceremonies to cleanse, heal, bless
and communicate with the ancestors. `
Drawing on nature’s abundance, we created a new range of Kokedamas.
Each one unique, these moss balls are host to a bouquet of exotic, rare and unusual plants.
To the Opus team, for making this dream real.
To Anke, for being so generous with your talent. You are a dream.
To our friends at The Velddrif Salt Co, for letting us play in your salt pans and then gifting us a big heap too.
To the girl gang at Studio H, for always being keen to try wild things and encouraging us to do the same.
To Andrew Ringrose for helping with the artwork design, always with a smile.
To Andrew & Spicer, for listening to us talk about this collection non-stop for months and still being excited about it now.
